Paradox
I love a paradox. A paradox describes a situation where certain behavioral traits appear to be contradictory but, in actuality, are not. Think about it; the best examples are “save money by spending it” or “i know just one thing and that is that i know nothing” or “ i love the Journey but not the destination” (this last one was tested a week ago and I will for sure write about the Journey some time).
I enjoy a paradox cause it forces one to think. Some years ago I read something that said “we want to control life by protecting ourselves from it” (I might have gotten the quote wrong) the crux of that statement is the fact that we love to minimise risk; and will do whatever is needed to make that risk disappear. It matters not the anxiety, the various players, fear, sorry, etc. Humanity has this inherent predisposition to avoid anything that has a negative emotional impact. All of us tend to deprive ourselves of this novel and creative push; by not trusting ourselves we could become obstinate. The price paid for an unwillingness to understand a paradox is enormous. One could loose the ability to be resilient.
Resilience comes from accepting and understanding. Resilience leads to a rich, fulfilling life. I love a paradox.
