Victim
People often see themselves as victims; circumstances, time, society and any other construct you can think of there will always be someone who cries out “Victim”. It’s probably the most negative and self harming emotion of all. Why ? Let me try to throw some light on it.
Most people’s emotions are governed by the outcome of what they expect (bias included) and not reality. It’s easy to find a logical construct that puts the onus on something other than oneself. Why is it so ? And why do we fall into this trap ? The bias is something that will present the situation far different to what it actually is. What if you decide to remove all bias from your life (impossible- but let’s run with the idea). The instance will still appear to be loaded against you and you will still cry out “victim”. Removing bias did not help. What about the instance ? It’s not the bias that causes heartache but the expectation that you are in complete control of the instance. (It’s a one in an infinity chance that you would be a 100% in control of everything) our mind tends to compensate; each situation where you are not in control is also one in an infinite and are considered as statically impossible and as such in your favour. This compensation gives one the feeling that one is in control. Reality is different, there is no compensation, there is no shortcut, there is no control. Emotional control and victimhood - two ideas that could so easily be explained in a manner that more often than not will be inaccurate or will be incomplete.
Let’s for a short while assume that the emotional response of being on the receiving end of something where you believed that there was some level of control is what caused the response of “play the victim”. The funny part is that you will also justify instances where there was no control; absolutely zero control as situations where your expectation of the outcome was justified. How can one say that I want a particular outcome irrespective of the process that takes place in a situation. It’s absolutely absurd to think like that. What about physical situation - the argument I provide is great when it’s intellectual or so it would appear. The fact is that there is no difference in a situation that is physical or is mental as both constructs effectively take place in the confines of your mind. Your mind should tell you that the outcome is for sure not in your control; at best it’s a roll of dice. The better mental construct is to figure out how one could control some of the variables in the situation and how controlling them could divert the outcome in your favour.
A victim in my opinion (this is controversial) does not exist (it’s impossible if someone thinks; they know). At best you have folks that claim to be victims and they are someone who does not apply their intellect at all (A refusal to apply ones mind). Anyone who applies even half a percent of their intellectual capacity would know the odds and would never consider themselves as victims. Humanity would prefer not to think - it takes up a lot of energy( scientifically proven that thinking burns energy - ergo thinking could make you thin !! ) its far more easier to divert energy from the Brain to the waist.
Nothing in my birth(I could argue that all of creation has resulted in Me and My universe - Let’s leave it for another day), cast, creed, (I am atheist so really it doesn’t matter at all) or anything else (I can only control myself - my choices , my actions, my thought) could make me a victim. I can and will be a student of my circumstance.
