Transformation
Biologically every cell in a human body undergoes change so much so that you are not the same person physically in a span of 7 years. I.e the you today is not physically the same as the you from 7 years ago. Let’s park this thought for a while and look at the universe and the physics behind the universe and our solar system. The current scientific belief is that the universe started out as a Big Bang and has ever since been in this state of transformation. Our solar system has undergone and is undergoing change every second. The physics is quite difficult but in simple terms, the universe and our solar system is in a constant state of change; exchanging one form of energy into another while keeping the total available energy the same. If one considers this to be true for all of the universe then it makes sense that it would be true for our individual selfs. The universal truths that exist are, Biological and physical transformation is happening all the time. What is it that stops us from transformation of ourselves ?
It appears to me that our own mind will resist. We all know that change is the only permanent but all of us have at sometime or the other resisted change, or continue to do so. I used to hate a change to a set schedule (I still do; just not as much). I don’t like making changes to the road taken on my daily commute. There is comfort in the predictable. Transformation requires effort. Psychology says that transformation is “the process by which unconscious wishes or impulses are disguised in order to gain admittance to consciousness”. Gobbledygook. There is a simpler explanation.
Our conscious mind tends to be analytical and will find a way to explain reluctance in a logical manner that appeals to us. We create stories, use our biases and anything else that would sound logical to resist change. Our subconscious or unconscious mind (many times identified as our heart) would then be at constant loggerheads with our conscious mind. We might wish that we could change but our mind doesn’t allow it. When we do this on a regular basis we tend to stop listening to our subconscious mind and then any change we wish to undertake becomes an ordeal. True transformation requires both your subconscious and the conscious mind to work together as one. This is the secret. The only way to get them to work together is to start to listen to your inner self I.e your subconscious mind. Yes you will make mistakes and yes it is difficult at first. As you get better at listening the better are the chances of you making a true transformation. Both your subconscious and conscious mind need to be fully vested in the transformation.
I continue to improve my listening, do you?
