Success, Failure and Limitations

Got thinking about this while re-reading an old post by one of my teachers from school. Is success a state of being Or nothing fails like success ?

There have been numerous books written by highly acclaimed authors on this subject and entire streams of though and philosophy dedicated to this . Something that is very popular today is “the secret “ a few years ago it was “in pursuit of excellence “ ... it makes me wonder is there really a standard formula or is it something so simple that the average Joe cannot see the truth.

Failure on the other hand is simply a lack of success as per the standard dictionary definition. Is it truly just the opposite? To understand failure one needs to understand success.

Are you limited ? That is to say held back by circumstances or something else? Some schools of philosophy might say - one needs to overcome the limitation that are external or better yet it was all preordained and so there is nothing one can do.  What a load of tripe. Physiological analysis tells us that limitations are a construct of the human mind. People tend to use limitations as an excuse to explain the lack of success. The only real limitation is the lack of vision or a lack of a plan to accomplish a vision.

A Self made person is the sum of external additions to the who you where based on the who you want to be when you started on this journey.  That is to say in other words the effort exerted in shaping your destiny will define the destiny. Simply put this is something that one has to discover on ones own by the experience of the moment and what one learns from it . This is important.  The knowledge gained helps one figure out things like “ethics” , “morality “ , “metaphysics “ etc etc ... reading would help no doubt; but it’s the experience that provides meaning to these words.  It then means that failure truly is the lack of learning from experience. The best way to explain this is by looking at the recent space x rocket launches - the group of scientists and engineers have been successful because they have learnt from their mistakes . Each rocket that did not reach the expected mission parameters has helped them to make changes to the engineering and design. A process now known as failing fast and failing forward.

True failure is not to learn from the experience, not to know what your abilities are , not using your ability to the fullest. Failure is not the lack of validation from others. It is not reaching some level on some scale when being compared to others on the same scale. Nothing could be further from the truth - your experience is your own and if you stretch that thought to its logical conclusion. Your success or failure is your own . This of course means that one is fully responsible of ones own success or failure and similarly one should be humble enough to acknowledge it.
